Novelist David Morrell graces Team AOTP with his encyclopedic cinematic and literary brain, breaking down a few of his most famous novels -- "First Blood," "Creepers," "The Brotherhood of the Rose" -- and their on-screen adaptations, as well as pointing out how he hopes to inspire young men and women with heroes and heroic mindsets in his work. We also took some fun sidetracks into a shared love of 35 and 70mm film prints, and how much he enjoyed his foray into writing for comic books, notably penning a memorably feral issue of "Wolverine."

Disney, fake-wokesters, and hypocritical celebs (but we repeat ourselves) all land in Jacob's sites, though he sees the successes of Top Gun: Maverick and TV's "Reacher" as glimmers of hope amongst the self-destruction. He also picks Star Wars over Indiana Jones as the franchise worthy of setting on the path to redemption. With no apologies (or royalties) to Ice Cube, Wicket, man. Wicket.

Second time a charm welcoming Vandoliers' Josh Fleming to AOTP and bless his sober heart for a jam-packed 34 minutes. Befitting the show's -- and his band's -- eclectic nature, we ran the gamut from Texas acts' predilections for songs involving booze to the wistful nostalgia behind one of Josh's first Americana-minded tunes. Too much fun with a guy who effortlessly flowed from fronting punk bands into the equally raucous Vandoliers, the conversation gloriously threw nods to NOFX, Flogging Molly, Johnny Cash, Blink 182, Lucero, Old 97's, and, yes, even Taylor Swift and Hanson. It's All Over the Place, folks. It's what we do.

From his youngest days as a lad soaking in the sounds (and perhaps an occasional sip of some adult beverages) of the Irish pubs through his recently wrapped tour with his band The Ravens opening for Queensryche legend Geoff Tate, Mark informs us about his songwriting process at home and on the road, capturing his more aggressive live sound on his latest recordings, connecting with his autistic son through the power of music, and much, much more.
