When the incredibly talented and enthusiastically positive Rick Hughes makes himself available for a rendezvous during his recent trip to Arizona, the two residents of the Grand Canyon State absolutely jumped at the opportunity. With a huge and appreciative tip of the chapeau to Vinyl Record Dude's Nick Boor, Cathy and Eric set up inside the store's listening room for more fantastic stories from Rick. Sharing starstruck tales about recording his cover of The Who's "The Real Me" with the powerhouse of Tommy Aldridge, Rudy Sarzo & Brad Gillis, Rick also reminds us of the importance of providing his audience with an escape from their worries; writing songs with Jon Bon Jovi and fellow Canadian Aldo Nova; his admiration for John Bonham and Vinny Appice; how he'd like to work with the legendary Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey; what's on tap for later this year and into 2027; and much, much more!
No guests enter the AOtP den without playing "Make Up Your Mind," either, and Rick gamely supplied some phenomenal replies!
